Today marks the 6th month that I have stayed on Medium. What started as a summertime hobby soon became a significant part of my life.
36 articles in counting and I am still cruising along this path to an unknown destination. That’s the beauty of being on a journey, right? We never know where it will lead us.
6 months on Medium and I would still be considered a newbie compared to those who have been writing on Medium for years BUT it feels like I’ve been writing on here for years too. I no longer feel amateur-ish.
Writing on Medium, I have learned a lot in which I hope would help guide other newbies and ease any fears or doubts they may have about writing on this platform or similar ones.
A Niche
Finding a niche was difficult. I believed that I couldn’t write unless I stuck to a particular topic of choice. That’s all every writer, blogger and content creator talks about before starting the process of creation.
You don’t need a niche…at least not right away.
Your niche will find you. Start by writing what you’re interested in or something you know a lot about. Eventually, your articles will tie into a “niche.” I started writing about self-love and soon my topics revolved around self-improvement and human…
