This time of year never fails to bring on the feels.
The shopping, the cooking, the family bickering.
Crowds, traffic, your neighbor’s dog barking at all hours of the night.
You can’t really blame the impatient old woman who just wants to buy pre-made crust for one of her pies or the workaholic father who waited way too long to purchase his son the greatest action figure ever to be made…okay, maybe you can put the blame on him.
As the holidays roll around for another year we tend to forget to be mindful of ourselves and others. We react without thinking, lose our patience entirely and spend the rest of the time feeling drained, exhausted, stressed and ready to call it quits.
The holidays are the best time of the year IMO. I enjoy the holiday scene while Christmas music plays in the background on Queen Mariah Carey’s radio.
I enjoy this because everyone is pretty much cruising on the same boat as far as the holidays go. A lot of us are scrambling for ingredients, browsing gifts and facetiming families and friends from the other side of town. It feels like a shared moment.
