The start of self-soothing. This resonated so much. The sbsence of your friendship was definitely needed for you to be your own friend and to be okay with that change. I've had a similar experience.

Coming out on the other side it's a lot better and you start to really enjoy your "Me" time. Next thing you know your friend will be on the other side wondering why you're avoiding her...LOL
